Neighborhood outing

We took 2 hours yesterday to explore the neighborhood a little deeper and in the process were led to some amazing people along the way. Here's the start of the "tour" with an elevator ride down. "Who gets to push the button" is the question of the day...

The pool is still under contruction but should be ready in a few months. It's winter time here (the highs are only in the 80's), but it should be ready by summer (next Feburary-March).

The front gate ... there are security guys here 24/7. We have loved getting to know them and they really enjoy the kids.

Some of the various stores that we have visited around the neighborhood ... this is a cane juice stand.

This is Ever Fine ... a version of Wal-Mart Supercenter for us. They have 3 levels where yo ucan buy groceries, household items, TOILET PAPER, etc. This is where we usually buy our fresh produce.

Our friend, Ravi, owns the neighorhood pet store. Dogs are the big thing here, so we are excited to be able to buy kitten food within walking distance of our home. Remember Ravi as well. He is such a nice guy and has really become a good friend. The Pigeon Store below, btw, is a cookware brand ... not the bird!!

This doctor's office is also within walking distance of our home. We hope to never go there, but our neighbors took their son there this week and said it was a good place to go.

We were given such an amazing opportunity to meet this family while we were out. The mother and her 6 children live under a tarp and run their pottery business next to it. The children were so excited to see their pictures after we took them. After we finished our walk in the neighborhood, we decided to go back and give them some ice cream. The best part of our meeting came when we were able to tell them the Son loves them ... in their heart language. They spoke no English, and by the Father's grace, they understood our words when we shared with them of His love. Remember this family....

We met this mother and her two young children on the way home. Sweet people, precious smiles ... we hope to run into them again soon.
