In your daily life would you say you SURVIVE, ENDURE, or THRIVE?
This was the theme of a Bible study class at our church for seminary/ministry wives that I had the privilege to attend which was written and taught by our pastor's wife, Deborah Pearle. "Not surviving....Not enduring....But THRIVING in the ministry."
She wrote:
" --If your focus is man, you will be disappointed.
--If your focus is ministry, you will be depleted.
--If your focus is self, you will be disillusioned.
Your anchor must be in the Lord Je$us Christ and His Word. He alone must be your focus in life and in your ministry."
She said "In your flesh, you endure; in pretense, you survive." And one of my favorite quotes and a great reminder: "If you fail at being a great parent, it doesn't really matter what else you did well." Wow. How true and how convicting that is!
