Thus far has the L0rd helped us....1 Samuel 7:12

We had a fun weekend with friends from Arkansas who came for a visit! What a blessing that was. After dinner Fri. night, we were preparing to leave for a walk around campus when a friend dropped by to tell us he was on his way to a Coffee and Chocolate Prayer Event for the People of West Africa at the World M Center on campus and was hoping we'd come too. We went for our walk and when we got to the M Center, we decided to pop in and see what it was all about...after all did I mention there was chocolate?! (We learned that 80% of chocolate consumed in the US is from cocoa beans produced in this area.....who knew?!) We went in and there was a small group of people introducing themselves and sharing about why they were there. The host couple was an older couple on furlough from W. Africa and in dress from that culture. He mentioned that everyone that had introduced themselves thus far had actually been to W. Africa. It was kind of funny because none of us from Arkansas had been there. Most people in attendance were younger and single and seemed knowledgeable of the area, since they had been there and all. Here we were with our friends and our 3 kids...trying not to be a spectacle! During the pr@yer time, I was most moved to pray for the people of West Africa, but I'll have to admit I spent half my time praying that our 3 year old would stay very, very quiet! Which she did, thank you God. It was just funny to me....there are a lot of people here that don't fit the traditional student mold of young and single. But at this time and place, we were the ones that obviously broke the mold! There was one man there who was a native of Cameroon, W. Africa. and was fascinating to listen to...and when he prayed...oh man, it was so powerful and spirit filled that I had tears streaming down my face. It was an amazing opportunity....to hear about the people groups there and how only groups that have populations of 100,000 or more can have an M sent to their people group. I was suddenly struck by the need for the smaller people groups...who will go and share with them? What a matter of much needed pr@yer....so ALL MAY KNOW HIM.
