This is one of the very first things we saw when walking to the hospital that first morning. The night we flew to Bangkok was the same night things go so much worse in this city. Things are so much more calmer now and again, we are thankful for it.
We made it to the hospital and quickly got Noah registered ... and still had some time for breakfast. We got a kick out of the McDonald's here ... Ronald himself met us at the front and gave us the traditional Thailand wai (a Thai greeting that consists of a slight bow with palms pressed together, according to Mr. Widipedia).
We cannot say enough how thankful we are to be a part of an organization who takes such great care of its people. We were all a little nervous about Noah's appointment, but this pediatric clinic set our hearts at ease immediately.
While we were in the doctor's office with Noah, Emma stayed out front and entertained her big sister!! :) Meet the many faces of Emma (photographer: Elizabeth)....
Nope ... never a dull moment!!
Many have heard about the "Fruit Loop dream" ... well his dream came true when our friend, Jennie Taylor, showed up at our doorstep with a box of those fruity circles. We also found Lucky Charms ... and yes, they were magically delicious!!
We are so used to seeing rickshaws in our city, but there are none of those here. There are some tuk-tuks that run around, but the taxis are by far more popular (and very inexpensive). The kids always have a fun time trying to "pick out a color." Here are two popular colors in our family! :)
A grocery store in one of the malls ... a little different than what we're used to!!
We've also been enjoying eating BEEF in ways that we're not so used to eating BEEF!! Did we mention we're enjoying BEEF!!

A common sight ... the soldiers have been so very nice!!
We got out a little yesterday in search of the closest thing we can find to Wal-Mart. Our taxi guy insisted that we visit this place. We thought it was discount shopping, but it ended up being a very high-end jewelry store. It was a neat experience, though, as much of the jewelry is made here. This group of ladies met us at the front door and then served us soft drinks when we went inside. They really enjoyed the kids! As hard as some of our days have been, the life experiences the Father is giving us, especially for the kids, cannot be measured.
These are called "spirit houses" are found throughout the city. This one was in the parking lot of the Tesco.
One of the first things we noticed was a Dunkin Donuts. We didn't buy any, but we enjoyed looking at them.
And then we FOUND it!! If you're familiar with Veggies Tales' Madame Blueberry ... then you're probably familiar with Stuff Mart!! We found ourselves smack dab in the middle of STUFF MART!! We didn't know what to do first ... it was so much like being inside of a Wal-Mart Supercenter!
The biggest difference between this place and Wal-Mart is that we've never seen an escalator in the middle of Wal-Mart!
Yep, this was a very good day!!!
We've also enjoyed getting some unexpected hang-out time with our dear friends....

So glad you are able to enjoy the city. BTW, the fruit you photographed is called "rambutan" here ("hair"). It is actually very good… kind of like a grape inside!
