Wait....Hope....Trust

"WAIT" in the transliteration of a Hebrew word means 'to twist, or to bind, whence a rope.' This verse reveals the active nature of intertwining one's life with the life of God. When intertwining is being done, that person is made strong.

In Strong's, "WAIT" is:
to wait, hope, expect, await, tarry, to wait for, hope for, delay, have hope, hoped, wait, wait expectantly, waited

"WAIT" in the Hebrew Lexicon:
to wait, look for, hope, expect, waiting, to wait or look eagerly for, to lie in wait for,
to wait for, linger for, to collect, bind together, to be collected

In this verse, the subject is "they that wait" which means to trust or hope. The Hebrew word 'hope' comes from the same root. Looking at different versions of this scripture the words hope and trust are used in place of wait in this same verse. Originally, "HOPE" means to "twist" or "weave", as strands of a rope, making a tool capable of holding a heavy load securely.

This is something God has been teaching me for a while now....I remember well last year when Carmen (my dear friend and mentor) told me about the true meaning of waiting in the original Hebrew....not watching a clock and a calendar but twisting myself about the Lord and His Word, trusting and expecting and resting in Him. My personal application: WAIT....HOPE....TRUST.....be confident and trust and eagerly expect what is surely coming.
