Celebrating the reason for the season
We are just thrilled with the place the Father has led us to worship Him corporately on Sunday mornings. Though we are still listening for the specific ministry He wants us to be involved in within our neighborhood, we know without doubt this is one of the ways He is filling up our tanks as we gather with the body. The heart of worship, the international presence, the friends, but more than anything HIS presence continues to draw us back here week after week. The kids presented the reason for the season through song and drama yesterday, and Noah and Emma were excited to be a part of it. Noah was a shepherd boy (but ended up playing TWO shepherd boys because one of the shepherds decided he didn't want to be a part of it) while Emma sang with the choir.
Joseph and Mary hearing those words, "there is no room in the inn." The sacrifices these two made so many years ago, all in the name of obedience, is overwhelming. Even more overwhelming is the Father's sacrifice. We're thankful for the best gift given through the Son.
Waiting to go up and present some gifts. One of the most special parts of the day came when the kids were called up to the front to present their gifts to the orphan children who attend each Sunday. Our children were given an opportunity to receive a child's name and then buy a gift for that child. Before the gifts were given, however, the child receiving the gift read a passage of Scr!pture he/she wrote on a book mark to the children giving the gift. There was just something heart warming as we sat and listened to them read His Word. We are thankful that He has called us here to be His hands and feet, but we are recognizing more and more each day that WE are the ones who are receiving the blessing. Thank You, Father, for this day.
