50 dollars for snacks.....

At church yesterday, a dear precious servant of God shook my husband's hand and in it was a 50 dollar bill. He said he thought we might could use it for snacks on the trip home. I can't hold back the tears that come as I think of his gift and stand amazed at the ways of God as He works in His people. To be on the receiving end is so very humbling. Any time we receive a gift like this, we put it into our 'M' account. We began doing that after we surrendered to ministry last year and many times have been blessed by the gifts of God's people. Every single thing we have done that is ministry related has been fully funded by these kinds of gifts. Every seminary class, every M trip, every seminary book,....all of it has been paid for through unexpected resources outside of our normal monthly income (sometimes at the very last minute!). Because God knows its not possible with our normal monthly income. Our minds are blown continually by God's provision to enable us to do what He has called us to do. We are so unworthy and so very much the last people on earth that should be doing something like this that it never ceases to blow our minds that we are here, doing this! So....with that said, when Steve showed me the money and told me who gave it, he said this needs to go straight to the 'M' account....not for snacks.
As we were getting out to get some supper and snacks on the trip home, we talked about how since the money was given for snacks, maybe it would be okay to use it for snacks. After all, the expense of traveling wasn't exactly in our monthly budget. But....we decided to stick with what what we had originally agreed upon...put it into the 'M' account.
God is so good.....today, in the mail....we got a rebate check for $49.99 for something we had already paid for and accounted for and had actually forgotten about getting the rebate back. (Those rebate things take FOREVER, don't they?!) I had to smile when I saw it. And God said "Now THAT ONE is for SNACKS!" Oh yes...God is good and He is faithful, all the time.
