God DOES have a sense of humor!!!
So...since the home we're renting from the seminary has a no pet policy, we had to give away all of our pets before we moved. Chelsea, our 15 year old Persian cat that we had had longer than any of our kids, went to live with a wonderful lady who works for FamilyLife in Little Rock. Molly, our dog, went back to live with her original owner who is also a very dear friend. And Kelsey, the cat that we got free from a garage sale a couple years ago (who also gave birth to kittens just days before we moved), went to live with, ironically, a lady from Morrilton who faithfully always came to our garage sales. It really was a sad time and many, many tears were shed. Well, back to God's sense of humor...when we drove up in the moving van on August 15, we met two of our "neighbors" - Mickey the dog and a gray momma cat (who was very much in a motherly way). It was nice having them come to visit, but it seemed that the longer we were here, the more the expecting momma cat seemed to be hanging around. One day we noticed as she walked under our carport that she wasn't quite as plump as she had been. We knew she must have had the kittens, but we didn't know where. Well, a couple days later, we discovered a new born baby kitten under the carport with the momma cat beside her. She had carried this kitten from wherever she had given birth and brought it TO OUR HOUSE...keep in mind this is the house where pets are NOT allowed. We couldn't just leave it out there, so we moved it into a little shed that is connected to our home. We just assumed she had had one. Not the case - the next day, we opened the shed only to discover TWO kittens. And of course before the day was over, our shed was the home to three kittens and a momma cat. They have now been residents of our little shed for about 3-4 weeks now and they are just now getting out and about. We will have to decide what to do very soon, but the kids are having so much fun with them for the time being. God is great to give us this temporary gift...the keyword being 'temporary'!! Enjoy the pics that Elizabeth took!!
