New Year's Eve 2009

New Year's Eve started out with a very special delivery! We have close friends who will soon be leaving the city and are selling all of their belongings in order to make this transition. We definitely never planned on buying a dryer during our time here, but it was one of those things He made possible.

Since we are leasing a furnished flat but will eventually have to buy living room furniture, we felt the time was right to also buy their sofa and 2 chairs. We moved one of our black chairs into Noah's room and the other one to our room to make space for our much softer furniture ... who knew soft furniture could feel so good?! :)
During the delivery, we got a chance to catch up with some of our close friends. It's amazing how the Father so often uses our spiritual family to bring us encouragement!
Back in the states, our thing was to make all kinds of snacks, play games and watch movies on New Year's Eve. How thankful we are that just because we moved so far away from everything we'd ever known, He still made it possible for us to do what we've always done. Thanks to a package from Grandmother and Poppie (that we received the day BEFORE New Year's Eve), we were able to make marshmallow treats, hot cocoa with candy canes and marshmallows, and cheese dip (with REAL rotel and REAL velveeta)!! :)

And thanks to Grandma and Grandpa, we were able to have an AWESOME little Wii party!!

We ended the night with a movie but took a break at midnight to watch a fireworks show from our balcony!! Thank You, Father, for an amazing 2009. We look forward to seeing what You will do in 2010!!
