Fish = FUN!!

Gen 1:20 - "Then G0d said, 'Let the waters swarm with fish and other life.'"

When we left Arkansas in August 2007, we got rid of our fish aquarium as well as our favorite finned creature, Oscar. There's just something peaceful about watching fish swim around, so when we found out friends of ours were selling their set-up, we decided to buy it and bring in yet a few more living creatures into our home! We had to buy a stand first, so we walked down to one of the local furniture shops with measurements in hand and asked if they could make a stand for us ... and they did. We ALL love the new addition to our home.

The kids got in on the action of filling it up with water! It was a game to them ... and we sure didn't mind them playing it (so we didn't have to).

Almost done....

Completely full!!

Today, we made our way down the street to the local fish aquarium shop to buy a few fish. On the way, we ran into one of our friends, who also works at the fish shop and happened to be on her way home after work. She decided to walk back to the store with us and visit a little. She knows the Son, so it is always fun to talk to her.

It's also fun to visit Aqua Bloo!! It's a part of our weekly language route, so we have gotten to know the employees really well. They love that we come in to practice what we've learned with them.

The fan tail guppies are some of our favorites....

Too many choices....

Always a fun time to visit new friends...this young girl has taken a special interest in Elizabeth.

On our walk back home....

Such diversity in our city ... what you can't see on the street is a couple tractors and a few cows.
Placing the plants in the gravel .... and then watching the "show."

Jazzy, too, is excited - maybe a little TOO excited!!

Meet Jonah ... we just bought a few to see how these responded to our water. If they work out, we'll get a few more.

The nameless fish ... according to our friends at Aqua Bloo, this school of fish are called 'hockey sticks' because of the black design down their side.
It was a week-long project to get from start to finish, but we are very happy with the end results. Now ... if they will only live!

We have fan-tailed guppies! Mike loves our fish. He's out of town this week--a class at NOBTS--and it's hard for me to remember to feed them...
