Our group had an opportunity to spend a day in Washington D.C. on Monday and put into practice some of the things we've learned here. The kids were especially excited to visit the capital of our nation!!

Emma passing time with her DS on our way there...

A view of the Pentagon from the bus

Our bus dropped us off at Union Station and from there we caught a subway to the part of the city we set out to explore and engage.

Inside Union Station...the kids did great with keeping up with their own subway tickets throughout the day.
Walking towards Pennsylvania Ave. to see the White House ... the city is just beautiful and the weather was perfect!!

The backside of the White House

Sharing with a lady who has been demonstrating on this same spot for almost 30 years!!
It was really a neat experience standing in front of the White House!

Noah hanging out with some of our team!! He has grown to love these guys and they love him!

* side note - THIS is what happens when he hangs out with these young 20-somethings for too long ... a few of the girls/guys took Elizabeth, Noah and Emma to get ice cream tonight and Noah came back with this lovely mask * :)

Wow what an experience!!!!!! Love the pics and can't wait to see you soon! Love you! Jen
I just now have looked at the pictures and was blown away by all you got to see and do, (not to sure about the INK on the girls arms, but will take your word for it that it will go away). Can't wait for you to get here and tell us all about it in person. So looking forward to the time we have left and plan to cram every second with memories!!! I love you all! It looks like DC was really, really fun. I'm so excited for your family and all that God has in store for you. I know you don't have much longer before your departure. Please keep us updated.
I have wanted a henna drawing on my shoulder for a long, long time...I am envious...ha!
Haha, love the Henna... Kelsey wants to be a girl from India for Fall Festival ( Halloween, wink wink ) with some Henna on her hand. Katie wants to be Pocahantas so I'll have to Indian girls! Miss you guys... Can't believe you guys didn't make it to the Smithsonian!
