A little beach getaway

Noah's birthday is 2 days before we leave VA, so we decided to surprise the kids with a trip to Virginia Beach. We're only a 2.5 hour drive from the ocean, so we got up at the crack of dawn and spent the day playing in one of His greatest creations ... the BEACH!!

Before we made our way to the beach, we took a 90 minute dolphin cruise in the Atlantic Ocean. It was incredible to see these creatures dance through the water. Some even put on a show for us and as Noah said "leaped up out of the water"!! The Father gave us some great memories to take away from our time here.

A great family day...

After the dolphin cruise, we made our way to the beach! We ate lunch at a local pizza place and asked our waitress directions to her favorite beach spot. She directed us to a place that is known pretty much to the locals only (in her words, she didn't like to be where all the tourists are). It turned out to be a perfect spot ... showers, bathrooms, and a boardwalk right up to the beach.

We couldn't get over the size of the waves...there were actually people surfing where we were.

We eventually had to say goodbye, but we were all so thankful for the day He gave us.
