We opened our home to our new friends in the neighborhood tonight. We ate, listened to Christmas music, ate some more, laughed and just really had a good time together. To add to the typical snacky foods - sausage balls, pigs in a blanket, chips and salsa, etc...one of the boys brought over homemade tamales!! Since our dining room table wasn't big enough for everyone, we just gathered together in the living room. During dinner, we shared the legend of the candy cane which eventually led to the story of Christmas. Noah also helped share an object lesson on sin...and Elizabeth shared her testimony of how she accepted Christ in our backyard in Conway while swinging on her swing set. Tonight was truly a God moment to which we give Him all the glory and praise!! Please pray for our new friends!

I think it's wonderful how involved you've been with your neighbors. So many times we let fear--of the unknown, being taken advantage of, bad influence, danger--keep us from relationships that would end up blessing us as well as others. Even though our neighborhood is quite different (very few kids, lots of older folks) you've challenged me to keep my eyes/heart open for ways to get involved.
Merry Christmas!
How fun! I'm so impressed with your kids and their heart for the lost.
